RAFT periodically runs laptop and tablet drives, collecting devices at the San Jose facility. Donations are tax deductible and a receipt can be provided.

No drive is scheduled at the moment. If you have devices to donate, email materials@raft.net or call 408-451-1420 and staff will tell you what is possible.

What RAFT can take

New and used laptops or tablets are preferred, though other tech donations are considered. Include power cords and any accessories.

RAFT cannot accept broken, cracked or otherwise damaged devices. A device passes the usability test if:

Prepare the device first

For your own protection, factory reset any device before donating it. On Apple hardware, turn off Activation Lock and Find My first. On Android, turn off Smart Lock first. Then run the manufacturer’s factory reset for Windows, ChromeOS, iOS or Android.

And do not forget the power cords.

Why it helps

RAFT has supported the education community for more than thirty years with low-cost materials, workshops, school events, STEAM kits and summer camps. A donated device goes toward the same end: getting the tools for hands-on learning into the hands of teachers and families who need them.
