Alongside serving educators and students, a key tenet of RAFT’s mission is stewardship of the environment. RAFT diverts roughly 400 cubic feet of material from landfill every single day, and turns it into affordable hands-on learning tools.
That model is what makes hands-on education possible for every student regardless of budget, and it only works because Bay Area businesses donate money and materials and thousands of volunteers turn that material into kits.
More than 56,500 RAFT volunteers have given their time to build Spark STEAM Kits and get hands-on materials into classrooms. There are opportunities for individuals and for groups.
