Found in Space

Grades: TK-8
Duration: 30 Hours

Campers take on the roles of astronauts and aerospace engineers in this interactive learning experience, engaging in a series of missions where they design, build and problem-solve challenges associated with space travel: launching rockets, exploring the solar system, understanding gravity and safely returning to Earth.

What campers do

Engineering and design focus

Students engage in challenges that require them to design, build, and problem-solve various challenges associated with space travel. This involves working through the design process to develop projects like rockets, space tools, and vehicles, practicing how to optimize designs for specific purposes like launching, maneuvering, and survival in space.

Space science and mission challenges

Students explore the realities of space exploration, including overcoming gravity, designing tools for mission control and astronauts, and understanding survival. The curriculum conceptually covers the entire journey: from launching rockets and exploring the solar system to addressing life in space and safely returning to Earth.
